About The Role: 
  
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Technical Surveyor to be a part of our dynamic team. You will collaborate in a professional environment with Registered Surveyors, Technical Surveyors, and Spatial and Infrastructure Property professionals, contributing to the planning, collection, and processing of survey data. This role is pivotal in maintaining the state's fundamental survey control network and supporting various spatial data products.
  
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Plan, collect, and process survey data for the state’s survey control network, topographic and surface data, and other spatial products.
  • Contribute to the state-wide Survey Control Network and provide survey support for various Spatial Services products.
  • Supervise small survey field parties, ensuring efficient and safe data collection.
  • Conduct continuous risk assessments at work sites to ensure the correct use of safety equipment and modify work methods as necessary.
  • Calibrate, adjust, and maintain survey equipment to ensure accurate data collection.
  • Utilize survey instruments such as GNSS satellite positioning receivers, Total Stations, and Electronic Levels to produce high-quality surveying results.
  • Provide detailed reports on survey accuracy and project completion.
  
Key Relationships:
  • Internal: Collaborate with managers, supervisors, GIS specialists, and staff to provide technical and procedural advice and resolve issues.
  • External: Liaise with clients and industry stakeholders, attend meetings, and exchange technical information.
  
Essential Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience as a surveyor with knowledge of control surveys and current positioning technologies.
  • Strong planning and project management skills to deliver projects within budget and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
  • Willingness to undertake fieldwork away from home for up to two weeks at a time.
  • Satisfactory criminal records check.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Surveying or an equivalent qualification.
  • A current NSW Driver License.
