About your new role

Even if you haven’t heard of Energy Queensland you might know our operational brands - Energex, Ergon Energy Network, Ergon Energy Retail and Yurika. As a group, we are growing rapidly and as part of the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan (QEJP), actively helping to advance the energy transition towards net zero.

Working out of Rockhampton, you’ll develop and deliver technical training and associated professional services for a range of technical trade and post trade competencies to Energy Queensland employees and external customers.

Working closely with the Technical Training & Apprentice group, you will create structured learning programs, provide individualised guidance and mentorship, emphasising practical application, conducting assessments, integrating industry practices, and engaging in continuous learning.

In this multifaceted role you’ll equip our Apprentices with the skills, knowledge, and support they need to succeed in their chosen technical field.

The remuneration for your new role is from $128k - $137k + 12.75% superannuation for a 9-day fortnight and from $144k - $155k + 12.75% superannuation for a 10-day fortnight.

About you

You are trade qualified with a desire to work hands on, as well as interact with a diverse group of stakeholders.  

You may be looking for the next opportunity to finally get off the tools and make a positive impact to our next generation apprentices.

You have a relevant trade (Certificate III) qualifications in Electrical Supply Industry Distribution/Transmission or Electrical Engineering/Electrotechnology and a QLD recognised Electrical Workers License (Electrical Fitter/Mechanic, Linesperson or Cable Jointer).

Additionally, you have relevant skills and knowledge to perform ACO Authorisation/CT Metering/Complex Connections/Shock Investigations.

Ideally, you will also have Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or have the ability to rapidly acquire with relevant demonstrated experience.
