Short-Term, State Government Contract as a Technical Writer with Hybrid Working Arrangements.

This role will be with a State Government Department responsible for protecting and improving the health of all South Australians by providing leadership in health reform, public health services, health and medical research, policy development and planning, with an increased focus on well-being, illness prevention, early intervention and quality care.
Your new role
Due to a strategic pivot freeing up some budget, this department has some immediate upcoming labour hire requirements until EOFY, and they require a Technical Writer. This department only has funding until the end of June 2024, so it is a very short-term project.
- Review a suite of ICT policies for comprehensiveness and logical consistency and realign within an updated framework
- Work with subject-matter experts for guidance on detected ambiguity, contradiction or missing components and update policy sets.
- Write policies and IT spec's around governance and security / data management and passwords.
- Review ICT procedures and provide independent assessment of their accuracy / comprehensiveness.
- Coordinate and personally implement improvements in readability / presentation / missing steps.
- They are looking more for a 'word-smith' than a subject-matter expert.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be a very good writer, with the ability to translate complex language into clear and easy to understand wording.
