* Orthotic / Prosthetic Technician (Grade 1 Technical Officer) - Part Time, permanent (23 hrs p/w)

*Located at Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre, Kew

*$40,699 base (pro rata) + Salary packaging + super

About Orthotics & Prosthetics:

The Orthotic and Prosthetic Department has a strong focus on positive patient outcomes, professional development and effective practices, to deliver a high quality and timely service, both clinically and technically, to the inpatients and outpatients across Austin Health's three campuses and the community. We are actively involved in quality and education initiatives, and work with other Allied Health professionals to deliver a high standard of treatment across a large range of pathologies.

About the Role:

As an Orthotic / Prosthetic Technician at Austin Health you will work collaboratively with a supportive team of professionals to provide a flexible and responsive service that meets the needs of each patient. The position will be based predominently at The Royal Talbot campus.

A regular day will see you:

 * Fabricate , modify and repair Orthotic and Prosthetic devices under direction of a clinician

 * Manage stock for both technical and clinical areas

 * Ensure a safe working environment through the daily care of and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment

• Have a commitment to learning Orthotic / Prosthetic fabrication skills
• A flexible and positive approach to teamwork
• Ability to prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines and an awareness of when to seek assistance.
• Demonstrated computer literacy
• Previous technical experience (i.e. electronic, mechanical, trade, leatherwork) or working with workshop equipment and hand tools would be adventageous.
