The Opportunity:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Satellite Operations Technician to join a team who are responsible for the operation, maintenance and configuration of the telemetry, tracking and command (TT&C) equipment at the Uralla Satellite Station.
The primary responsibility of the Satellite Operations Technician role is the configuration, operation and maintenance of telemetry, tracking and command (TT&C) equipment at the Uralla TT&C Station.
Duties:
- Configure and operate telemetry, tracking and command (TT&C) equipment, acquire a designated satellite, achieve a viable track and maintain track IAW customer's desired configuration.
- Conduct fault finding taking a system approach to rectify problems quickly.
- Configure and setup equipment for network readiness tests for missions.
- Safely operate and maintain RF equipment, waveguide, high powered amplifiers and waveguide switches etc.
- Maintain and install simple fibre / Cat6 networks, maintain and repair computer equipment
- Conduct both routine/breakdown maintenance of TT&C equipment as directed, installation of new equipment as directed
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Nationally recognised trade qualification in a relevant discipline (electronics, electrical, communications) and/or equivalent relevant experience in the RF industry
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Previous experience working under pressure and tight deadlines
Desirable:
- Working at heights certification.
- Qualified first aid
Special Requirements
