Your new role
We have a 12-month max-term contract/secondment Technical Business Analyst opportunity to join the Investments Platforms team. Reporting to Technical Business Analyst Lead, the focus of the role involves working closely with the sponsors, business initiative owners, internal subject matter experts and other stakeholders to elicit relevant information in order to define and document business, functional and non-functional requirements, perform analysis support duties and provide advice and assist in the delivery of projects and initiatives undertaken by Investments technology.
The areas of focus include investments, integration and data and analytics.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Conduct high level business analysis, defining and documenting business, functional, non-functional and process requirements
- Elicits project requirements using various methods, including but not limited to interviews, document reviews, requirements workshops, surveys, data analysis, interface analysis, researching and resolving issues
- Drafts detailed requirements and related documentation
- Ensures that all documents are written using clear and concise language
- Ensures that documents meet all relevant specifications and are compliant with the initiative brief and internal Fund requirements, policies, and procedures
- Works closely with the Technical Business Analyst Lead / initiative lead regarding prioritisation and estimation of levels of effort, and risk and cost of implementation
- Work closely with delivery partners to implement assigned initiatives including providing assistance in test planning and execution as required.
What you’ll need
- Experience as a technical Business Analyst working on successful delivery of significant projects / initiatives
- Proven ability to successfully gather requirements and get results with minimal supervision
- Understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate these into requirements
- Excellent problem solving, analytical and research skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Experience of process analysis, data analysis and interface analysis
- High levels of initiative with the ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously with conflicting priorities
- Tertiary qualifications in a business, engineering, or computer science discipline or related technical expertise / experience such as 6 Sigma, IIBA/BABOK and/or agile/waterfall
- At least 3 years of prior experience within Investments preferred/desirable
- Experience within a regulated environment previously would be highly desired
