Experience working as a technician and undertaking cabling duties is essential. You must hold a current ACMA licence to be eligible. All the work is located in the Melbourne metro area.
Duties and responsibilities
- Complete telecommunications cabling works to the highest standard
- Installation, testing and commissioning of fibre optic and copper cabling infrastructure
- lead 1-2 Technicians & Apprentices.
- Plan the job methodology and solve a cabling issue on a site.
- Timely completion of job-related documentation.
- Ability to read design drawings and specifications.
- Excellent understanding and adherence to the HSEQ policies, to ensure compliance, ongoing improvement, and customer focus through their daily work.
- Installation of enterprise IT and computer equipment, including server cabinets & racks, servers, networking equipment, routers, switches, cooling units, cable management & WiFI
- Maintain technical knowledge and up to date with Telecommunications regulations.
Essential Criteria:
- Have at least 2 years post apprenticeship experience working in the Telecommunications industry, small scale projects and fitouts and have fibre optic experience.
- Hold a current ACMA Cabling Licence with endorsements of Structured and Fibre Optics.
- Can work as part of a team or independently.
- A solid understanding of current data cabling practice
