Due to an increase in ongoing works and growth opportunities DTR are currently seeking the below skilled people.
We are looking for outstanding candidates that can deliver high quality work while following timelines and adhering to OH&S policies and procedures. You will also possess a great work ethic and attitude.
Both Roles below will at times require you to travel for a period of time to perform you duties as well as some after hours tasks.
POSITION -1
Cable Hauling Tech
Role and Responsibilities
- Hauling of various size fiber optic cables & Copper Cables
- Identifying of pits, poles and other existing infrastructure to assess the suitability for the network
- Rod and Rope
- Install Sub-duct
- Be able to drive manual vehicles
- Operate Fiber winch
- Drawing Red line Markups
- Data entry
- Correcting any design errors
- Assessing ducts and pits
Skills and experience
- Experience in the telecommunications industry working in live carrier networks
- Construction Industry Induction (White Card)
- Current drivers license (MR or HR would be favorable)
- First Aid (CPR)
- Confined Space ticket
- Telstra network experience and knowledge is essential
POSITION -2
Senior Fiber Splicer
Role and Responsibilities
- Preparation and splicing of optic fibre cables internal and external enclosures and frames.
- Reading and understanding network plans and drawings.
- Multi core count Cable preparation.
- Testing and Commissioning of links as per customer requirements.
- Producing Telstra Fiber workbooks
- Knowledge of the Telstra external and internal Plant environment.
- Knowledge of Cable Hauling Practices and Procedures.
- Knowledge of multiple Carrier Optical Fiber Networks
Skills and experience
- Experience in the telecommunications industry working in live carrier networks
- Construction Industry Induction (White Card)
- Current drivers license
- First Aid (CPR)
- Confined Space ticket
- Telstra network experience and knowledge is essential
