How will you make a difference?
As a key Member of the Wabtec Control Systems Team, the purpose of Telecommunication Technicians is to carry out the installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications and electronic equipment and report on the performance and condition of the telecommunication asset to ensure safe and effective operation.
Where is the position located?
In Regional Queensland flying from Brisbane Airport to Mackay, however open to applicants residing in other Australian States.
What will your typical day look like?
- Install, maintain and repair telecommunication and electronic equipment in accordance with predefined work programs
- Assist with the repair and adjust mechanical signaling equipment
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements and legislative policies including work activities performed by subordinate employees
- Report on work performed against the scheduled work program, and report any equipment performance and condition irregularities
- Progress the implementation and application of work procedures and practices in pursuit of ensuring continuous quality improvement
- Undertake all tasks and activities in a safe manner in accordance with relevant SWP’s

- Telecommunications Technician - Trade Certificate
- ACMA Open Cabler Registration
- Experience in railway telecommunications equipment and systems
- RIW (Rail Industry Worker) Card
- SARC (Safety Access Rail Corridor) Competency Certificate
- Current full Manual C Class Driver’s License
