An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Telecommunications Rigger to join our client's team in Melbourne.
The Role
The role will join the team working on multiple major projects. These projects involve working with various carriers across mobile networks throughout Victoria. The role will include, but not limited to:
- Upgrading and modifying existing wireless telecommunications sites, including mobile and broadcast systems.
- Performing work at heights and installing mobile/broadcast antenna systems, Remote Radio Units (RRUs), feeders, and Microwave Links.
- Installing and erecting steelwork, monopoles, towers, etc., as required.
- Conducting PIM testing, sweep testing, distance to fault analysis, terminating feeders, bird-proofing, and waterproofing connectors.
- Installing and maintaining antenna and feeder cables on monopoles and towers.
- Familiarity with earthing requirements.
- Checking, maintaining, and operating equipment in compliance with safety, efficiency, and calibration procedures.
- Undertaking rigging and general tasks as assigned by the company, including site constructability inspections that may involve identifying gaps and scope changes.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience as a telecommunications rigger.
- Possession of a current Certificate in Rigging (Basic minimum).
- Working at heights and Tower Rescue certification, with Previous climbing experience is essential.
- Solid knowledge of telecommunication rigging techniques and adherence to best practices.
