The Telecommunications Team:

  • Work in a fast-paced, supportive working environment in a challenging and rewarding role.
  • Switchboard operators carry out a range of administrative tasks to facilitate the efficient contact of duty and on-call doctors and ancillary hospital staff, in support of providing a professional and timely response to patient care.

The role:

  • The Telephonist at the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) is responsible for providing clients with a professional and efficient service regarding incoming and outgoing telephone enquiries.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, casual, shift-worker position working as and when required, commencing from as soon as possible for a twelve month period

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $64,125 - $$68,925 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
  1. crimes of violence
  2. sex related offences
  3. serious drug offences
  4. crimes involving dishonesty
  1. Identification check
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
