About the role:
We have an incredibly rewarding opportunity for you to join our team as a Telephonist at our bustling hospital. As a vital member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients, families, and visitors receive the best possible experience when calling our hospital.
In this dynamic and fast-paced role, you will be responsible for answering incoming calls, providing accurate and timely information, and connecting callers with the appropriate medical staff or departments. You will also be the first point of contact for emergency situations, quickly and efficiently directing the caller to the appropriate personnel and taking immediate action as necessary.

Are you a customer service superstar with a strong Call Centre background with a passion for providing exceptional patient care? Your attention to detail and strong computer skills will be essential in ensuring that our internal database records and medical staff rosters are up-to-date & accurate, providing peace of mind to patients and their loved ones.
As a key member of our team, you will work closely with other departments to ensure a seamless and stress-free experience for our patients. Your proactive approach to finding solutions and managing difficult conversations will be critical in ensuring that each patient receives the care and attention they deserve.
Our department operates on a 24/7 rotating roster, including the occasional overnight shifts, so we require candidates who are fully flexible and willing to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia.
2. A proven track record of working in a switchboard or contact centre is highly desirable, demonstrating proficiency in managing high volume calls and providing timely and accurate information to callers.
3. Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to quickly implement procedures and follow protocols with precision.
4. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to handle challenging situations and diffuse difficult conversations with empathy and professionalism.
5. Previous experience working effectively as part of a team and independently, with a focus on delivering outstanding service outcomes.
6. Well presented, coupled with the ability to engage with staff, patients, and the public at all levels, delivering a superior level of service that exceeds expectations.
7. Have the following experience is highly regarded but not essential (IPFX Console, Cisco, Paging Systems, Radio Communication, Microsoft 356)
