Oak Valley is a beautiful and very remote Anangu community in the Maralinga Tjarutja Lands, set on the edge of the Great Victorian Desert. We have a small and transient student cohort who speak Southern Pitjantjara as their first language, and English as a second or third language. Our students and families are proud of our school and the place it holds in our community.We are seeking an adventurous teacher to join our team. You?ll be teaching Upper Primary to Middle years, year 5 ? year 10. This role requires a willingness to develop authentic relationships with students, staff, families and community. It will involve working alongside Anangu Educators to deliver curriculum and high expectations of students. Understanding EALD strategies, trauma practices and collaborative practices are highly desirable.Bring your flexibility, teamwork, resilience and sense of humour to our wonderful school. On the weekends, make your way to the coast for a beach getaway, and to watch the whales during their yearly migration, head off country for camping trips, and get to know the community.In addition to the salary, the following financial incentives apply:
Country Zone Allowance of $10,737

Successful applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to enter the Maralinga Tjarutja Lands, as per the local Aboriginal Community Council.
To ensure employer compliance of duty of care responsibilities given the unique environment of the Maralinga Tjarutja Lands, a wellness check will be conducted for any Teacher nominated for this position and prior to any offer of employment.
