ABOUT THIS POSITION
This is a backfill vacancy to relieve staff on leave from 15 April 2024 – 5 March 2025.
Operating under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer and in accordance with Bawinanga Aboriginal Corporations (BAC) corporate plans, policies, relevant legislation and funding requirements, this position is responsible for ensuring the Accounts Payable function is operating in an effective manner.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintenance of the Accounts Payable ledger.
- High volumes of invoice data entry and transaction processing.
- Prepare and process weekly creditor batch payments as per specified payment terms.
- Process artist payments, copyright payments, staff reimbursements and other ad hoc financial transactions.
- Verify expenses, query invoices, liaise with managers regarding expense allocations.
- Ensure accurate and efficient approval of all payments as per company delegation policies.
- Monthly creditor reconciliations to statements, investigate all discrepancies.
- Respond to internal and external account queries.
- Corporate credit card management including data entry and monthly reconciliations..
- Maintain historical records.
- Identify improvements to processes and procedures.
Provide a high level of administrative support to Finance Team as directed. - Any other duties as directed by your supervisor, that is within your capabilities.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Essential:
- At least three years demonstrated Accounts Payable experience.
- A demonstrated understanding of Accounts Payable processes together with the ability to interact with customers and clients in a professional manner.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Experience using Reckon based software and/or other similar accounting software, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Demonstrated good communication skills as well as proven problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate high level administration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as being part of a small team.
- National Police Clearance.
Desirable:
- Experience working with remote communities and Aboriginal Corporations.
- Experience and/or knowledge of Aboriginal culture and communities and how they operate.
- Experience working for a community development or not-for-profit organization.
- Driver’s license.
Renumeration:
- Casual engagement at $33.54 per hour with 25% casual loading.
