About the Role
The Terminal Operator position aids the Terminal Manager in managing and controlling the safe and efficient operations to the Terminal to ensure that safe and reliable operations are maintained, and that the needs of customers are met in a timely manner with due regard to HSSE, reliability, efficiency, cost, stakeholder relationships and product stewardship.
Responsibilities and duties for the Terminal Operator involve coordinating the filling schedule for the Rail Car fleet to maintain supply continuity and initiate corrective action when required, work with Contractors to ensure their adherence to terminal operating rules and regulations.
You will monitor and maintain site integrity to ensure site is operating and maintained in a safe and reliable manner through the identification of hazards / risks and implement controls. As Rail Person in Charge, you will provide input to development and/or compliance of the LOMS for rail operations, ensure on-going competence and training in rail operations and manage daily planning activities of rail operations to meet customer demands.
When required, provide relief as a Shift Supervisor at the Terminal to cover annual leave, sickness or training (this may involve some shift work)
About You
If you have previous experience in working in high-risk environments (oil & gas, mining, etc.) this is a big bonus, as safety is always our number one priority.
If you haven't worked in these industries that's no problem as we provide all necessary training and value diversity of experience.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Hold valid permanent work rights in Australia for this full-time position.
- Current or previous experience working shifts.
- Ability to work in a team, and independently with minimal guidance (post sign off).
- Flexibility to work across day and night shift
- Can do attitude and willingness to learn
- Great time management and organisational skills
