What you’ll do 

The Test Automation Specialist will guide the definition and implementation of end-to-end automation strategies/approach, including completing maturity assessments, creating automation roadmap, and providing tool recommendation and implementation guidance.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, manage and deliver Test Automation for Strategic and BAU ART requirements.
  • Provide SME support, technical advice and guidance on automation testing, and promoting Test Automation capabilities and benefits.
  • Liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders across ART teams, including 3rd party vendors to build and deliver Test Automation capabilities.
  • Perform feasibility assessment and identify Test Automation requirements and scope in consultation with relevant teams.
  • Built & Uplift automation capabilities to improve overall test efficiency and productivity through use of latest tools including smart/AI automation.
  • Create automation test strategy and plans based on the project goals.
  • Develop, implement and maintain automation test frameworks.
  • Identify, setup and manage automation test tools – Toscaw, UFT, selenium, Cypress etc.
  • Develop and execute automation test scripts as per the agreed plans and ensure test results and evidence are documented.
  • Update and maintain automation test plans & suites for regression testing.
  • Defect management, coordination and reporting on automation testing.
  • Identify and report testing risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Provide regular testing status updates and reports, including reporting metrics and KPIs for automation testing.
  • Evaluate testing results and provide test summary reports with independent assessment and recommendation for testing signoff and change approval.
  • Ensure testing artefacts/assets – automation test scripts, results, evidence, defect reports, etc., are stored appropriately for future use.
  • Remain current with market developments, recommend new Test Automation technologies and guiding practices.
  • Define common tools platform for Test Automation across technologies and platforms.
  • Work with business stakeholders and project managers to ascertain the opportunities for implementing automation for application systems, conduct automation suitability assessments.
  • Provide guidance to automation teams on automation approaches, practices and tools.
  • Support the Program Test Manager with delivery of the required Testing COE services.
  • Identify Automation delivery requirements including scoping and estimation.
  • Help in demand forecasting and resources planning.
  • Provide advisory support and guidance on all Automation to client teams.
  • Provide regular test KPIs and governance reports.
  • Drive continuous improvement & capability uplift of testing services.
  • Support test strategy and framework development and implementation.
  • Identify strategic risks and issues and develop suitable action plans.

Here’s what you need

  • Current test automation-related experience, with demonstrated success in multiple contexts both in open source and commercial tools
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium, Micro Focus Unified Functional Testing (UFT) and SmartBear
  • Demonstrated experience with automation across the application stack, including unit test automation, web services/ middleware automation, and UI automation
  • Experience in deploying in two or more of the automation tool stacks available in the marketplace, and defining/recommending frameworks for use, across a diversity of technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with internal management team and external clients using strong and communication skills
  • Experience in building CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps experience preferred)
    Demonstrated understanding of application architectures
  • Demonstrated experience in Automation framework development from scratch.
