Job description

Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (CRRDA)…Your chance to work with the best!

Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class ‘ETCS' signalling system.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on one of Australia's largest infrastructure projects and to be a part of something that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.

About the Role

As the Testing and Commissioning Package Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful testing and commissioning of Station Systems for the Cross River Rail project. Reporting to the Testing and Commissioning Manager, you'll be responsible for managing, administrating, and supporting the Testing and Commissioning Strategy and related activities associated with Station Systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP). Your main objective will be to ensure that all T&C requirements are identified, tracked, and scheduled in alignment with project obligations, facilitating the seamless handover of installed assets.

The role requires extensive stakeholder engagement, and you’ll collaborate closely with internal project teams, contractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders to coordinate planning and verification activities, monitor progress, and address any issues or challenges that may arise. This is an opportunity to set your T&C career on a higher trajectory in a client-side position on a challenging and stimulating legacy infrastructure project that featuring a range of systems and technologies new to Queensland and Australia. This position is offered as a two year contract with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Testing and Commissioning (T&C) requirements and schedules to ensure compliance with project obligations.
  • Plan and verify on-site testing activities, ensuring smooth transition to energised component testing.
  • Ensure the integration of railway systems within stations allowing commencement of Trial Running and Trial Operations phases.
  • Support integration, testing and commissioning activities to achieve acceptance of systems by providing facilitation, guidance, support, and review of the integration / T&C deliverables.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to align T&C plans, processes, and procedures, identifying and addressing gaps.
  • Liaise, collaborate, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the integration/T&C obligations are being performed according to program.
  • Provide support and advice including interpretation of requirements and standards, test hierarchy / test coverage, system integration functions, and test result impacts.
  • Provide guidance to suppliers on the implementation of T&C activities including factory, site, static and dynamic testing.
  • Support the governance and reporting on integration/T&C activities.
  • Actively identify and mitigate risks and issues related to the T&C program.
  • Prepare and respond to requests for information and correspondence related to T&C matters.

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience in integration/testing and commissioning of MEP systems within large-scale projects.
  • Previous experience in testing and commissioning leadership positions or as a client representative is advantageous.
  • Deadline focused with strong initiative, adaptability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Previous experience in dynamic testing and Station Systems testing in a rail construction environment is desirable but not essential.
