Commencing a staged opening in 2024, The Star Brisbane will bring a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming and a state-of-the-art Event Centre, transforming how people will play, shop and socialise in the river city.The Steward, reporting to the Stewarding Supervisor will become an important part of our pre-opening team. This role offers the opportunity to be a part of a team that will ensure seamless operation of our Food & Beverage outlets both front and back of house.A few of your responsibilities
- Manage the use and storage of chemicals at all times
- Manage waste materials ensuring recycling is adhered to
- Maintain and operate operational equipment including dishwasher, utensils and glassware
- Assisting in set up and preparation for events and banquets
What we are looking for- Can- do team attitude whilst upholding The Star values
- Sound knowledge of or ability to learn food safety regulations
- Flexible availability to work on a rotating roster that can include early mornings and overnight shifts.
- Self-motivation and flexibility to work individually and as a team as required
- Ability to focus and prioritise several tasks.
Experience in kitchen environments is desirable although not essential, we are looking for motivated candidates who can work within a team environment. In this role you will learn and develop an understanding of OH&S standards and take pride in supporting the teams to ensure all areas are kept clean and tidy.
