Theatre Assistant - Springfield Apply now Job no: 499955 Work type: Permanent Location: Springfield Categories: Theatre assistant About the role Mater Private Hospital Springfield (MPHS) are seeking an energetic, motivated and experienced Theatre Assistants to join the team on a permanent basis, 28 hours per week. These positions will include rostering on Saturdays. Located in Springfield Central, MPHS is a truly innovative, unique and contemporary hospital providing holistic healthcare to the Greater Springfield community. You will be working within a state of the art 80-bed hospital which provides a range of medical and surgical services as well as a combination of Perioperative and day beds, and a day oncology unit within a dedicated cancer care centre. Salary range: $29.59 - $32.09 per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging What you’ll be doing Your responsibilities will include: Preparing operating rooms for surgical cases Cleaning and maintaining theatre and equipment after each case in accordance with infection control procedures and Workplace Health and Safety legislation, restocking as required Maintenance of the Operating Theatres including reporting of any broken equipment Cleaning and waste removal Undertaking manual handling of patients Undertaking other duties as directed About you As the successful candidate, it is essential that you possess the following: Recent experience as a Theatre Assistant Completed Certificate III in Health Care Support (Operating Theatre Practice) or Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (advantageous) Demonstrated communication utilising medical terminology Be available to support our service through rostered shifts over extended working hours and on call Why join us?
