An opportunity is available for a reliable and motivated Therapy Assistant to join our Residential Aged Care team, based at Madeley. This is a part time employment type opportunity.
We have morning shifts 9am to 5pm Monday and Friday, and afternoon shifts 3pm to 8pm on Thursday.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team under the direction and delegation of allied health professionals, Therapy Assistants provide assistance in all aspects of day-to-day care and individualised therapy, lifestyle and leisure programs to meet the needs of Brightwater Care Group clients. Therapy Assistants support clients in therapeutic and recreational activities and provide feedback on clients’ progress to therapists to enable appropriate goal setting and program review.

To be suitable for this role, you must possess:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- The ability to prioritise your workload, problem solve, and work safely and efficiently under pressure without direct supervision.
- A positive, proactive and a client-focused approach
- A Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance (or progress towards), or significant experience in a related setting and a willingness to undertake training.
- A ‘C’ class drivers’ licence and own a reliable car.
- A satisfactory National Police Clearance that is less than 12 months old
- A satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening check
- Evidence of up-to-date flu & COVID-19 vaccinations
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the holistic needs of our clients are met in accordance with their Care Plan by facilitating a variety of therapeutic and recreational programs.
- Contributing to the development of innovative therapy programs to improve the wellbeing of our clients.
- Supporting volunteers to enhance the site therapy program.
- Contributing to site reporting, select standards and legislative compliance by completing all documentation and reporting incidents.
