We currently have an opportunity for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team of professionals at our Hunters Hill Campus on a permanent part time basis, to provide support and be an integral part of our inter-disciplinary team. We pride ourselves on our ability to deliver an optimum level of quality care on a holistic level.
As an integral part of the team, the OT Therapy Assistant, will assist the Occupational Therapist with the following:
- Equipment delivery, retrieval, maintenance, and management
- Delivery of targeted therapy programs prescribed by occupational therapists
- Assisting with ad hoc projects as required
This position will allow you to utilise your background working within allied health and rehabilitation to both contribute and support the OT within your department.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience working within aged care or an acute hospital setting within a multi-disciplinary team
- Effective teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work in both a fast-paced environment while maintaining accurate documentation skills relevant to an aged care, care planning setting
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to form a strong rapport and relationship with consumers and staff
- Display a high level of initiative and take pride in promoting mobility with your consumers
- Senior First Aid Certificate
- Proficient computer skills
Desirable Criteria:
- Occupational Therapy student
- Involvement in the development of clinical projects
- Experience in assessment of clinical outcome measurements
- Working knowledge of manual handling and Work Health & Safety
