Role Overview
Operating a Tactical Instructor Station (TIS) supporting live training missions and participating in simulator training exercises through role playing as flight support crew and other maritime assets, this role reports into the TISOP Lead, working on the MH-60R training system.
This role is based at HMAS Albatross in Nowra, supporting the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).
The role we are offering you
- Analysing the daily flight program to plan and prepare the training simulator based off pre-programmed events and ad-hoc training requirements
- Loading initial conditions and parameters within a training scenario, such as weather, aircraft loadout, and role-playing units to ensure the scenario is prepared prior to the start of the scheduled mission.
- Ensuring all discrepancies and/or malfunctions determined during training are properly documented and provided to CAE’s maintenance team.
- Simulated synthetic environment generation and manipulation involving Land, Sea, Surface and Sub-surface units while operating in live support alongside aircrew instructors
- Assisting the maintenance team in troubleshooting by utilizing on the job experience and expertise gained during the support of the customer
- Carrying out ancillary or secondary duties in support of overall Program requirements
Our ideal candidate has:
- Strong basic computer skills focused around managing and manipulating software applications at once under the direction of an aircrew instructor
- Possess knowledge of RAN Maritime & air operations, capabilities and tactical relationships
- Practical understanding of MH-60R sensor suites would be highly desirable

Security requirements
As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
