Pisces is Australia's leading primary producer of live food, aquarium plants and fish, supplying to the aquarium, pet and zoo industries. Qualifications and Experience
- We are looking for an experienced Laboratory Technician with an interest in horticulture to be part of the cultivation and production teams. An individual who can work with the Tissue Culture Manager to improve and develop our cultivation and production operations.
- Relevant qualification in a relevant scientific discipline, such as Biotechnology, Genetics, or other Life Sciences preferred, but not essential.
- Experience in Tissue Culture techniques preferred, but not essential.
- Ability to work unsupervised and as a part of a team.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- As a member of the Tissue Culture Team, you will be responsible for producing a consistent high-quality product.
- Routine daily lab activities including, but not limited to, cultivation of plants and tissues using aseptic technique, preparing media, collecting, and packing product for despatch, removal of contaminated product, general cleaning.
- Assist the Tissue Culture Manager in developing growing schedules and continued process improvements.
- Perform higher duties in the absence of the Tissue Culture Manager.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.

The successful applicant will work with the Tissue Culture Manager and other departmental staff, and report to the Aquarium Plant Manager.
