Badminton Australia (BA) is seeking applications from suitably qualified/experienced people for this key role within the organisation. The role of National Participation & Para Manager exists to provide key operational leadership to BA’s participation pathway across all grassroots and participation programs and activities.The participation pathway includes BA’s key “Shuttle Smash” program for which BA has recently received additional funding from the Australian Sports Commission. It also includes driving our commitment to inclusion, growing Para Badminton as well as working closely with key stakeholders to ensure BA continues to be a leading sport in Australia from a growth perspective.The National Participation & Para Manager reports directly to the CEO and includes providing guidance and support to our State and Territory members and overseeing all coaches, community leaders, and volunteers that deliver participation programs and activities across Australia. The role also takes responsibility for managing the participation budget and ensures that all participation objectives and reporting requirements are met.About Badminton AustraliaBadminton is a sport for life that can be played anywhere, by anyone at any time!Over 350,000 people participate in badminton in Australia and nearly 340 million people participate in Badminton across the world making it one of the top 5 participation sports. Badminton is a Commonwealth, Olympic, and Paralympic sport and has a significant state, national and international events structure.31 Olympians and 81 Commonwealth Games representatives have represented Australia and this year, a further 5 Olympians will be added as 3 athletes have qualified for the Paris Olympics and 2 Para athletes have qualified for the Paralympic Games. There are over 325 badminton clubs and Associations across Australia, and our sport is a proud member of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), Badminton Oceania, Australian Olympic Committee, Commonwealth Games Australia and Paralympics Australia.Hundreds of thousands of students participate in badminton each year in Australian schools and it is estimated that over 90% of Australians participate in badminton at some point in their lives whether it be at a club, in the backyard, at school or in the park!About the role
- This is a full-time role which reports to the CEO
- Provide strong leadership and be responsible for driving, overseeing, and implementing the delivery of all inclusive Participation & Para initiatives across Australia
- Ensure that National Participation & Para programs continue to expand and grow
- Lead key stakeholder communications and be responsible for all reporting requirements
- Champion inclusion across everything we do
- Salary range of $85k-$100k plus superannuation subject to experience
- Flexible work arrangements are available including flexible hours and WFH options
- The successful candidate will be expected to be based in Melbourne
- Interstate travel will be required from time to time
