Position Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for the right incumbent to join TJHB in the position of Depot Service Delivery Manager – Region 9. The role will be responsible to lead and manage our Service Delivery team through continuous improvement of service standards, build strong relationships with our frontline staff, and foster a customer-centric culture to deliver excellent bus service performance.
Our three (3) depots are located at Waverley, Port Botany and Randwick and this position will see you potentially operating out of any of these depots within the lifecycle of your tenure.
About the role
In this role you will be responsible to:
• Lead and manage the depot’s day-to-day operation to ensure on-time bus services in the Greater Sydney Bus Service Contract.
• Manage a team of support personnel such as depot supervisors and other key positions.
• Lead the Service Delivery team to exceed business values and objectives through mentoring and coaching.
• Conduct investigation of incidents, accidents, and customer complaints in an efficient, impartial and timely manner.
• Build a customer orientated culture in the depot to provide high-quality customer service with a strong focus on safety and performance.
• Provide a continuous improvement approach to all business processes.
• Partner with major stakeholders and in particular People and Culture team to implement and manage ongoing performance improvement and compliance processes.
• Be the first point of contact for all staff and employment related issues, including the local union representatives and other external third parties.
Skills and Attributes
• Proven understanding and application of Fatigue Management, and Quality Assurance and Chain of Responsibility.
• Previous experience in the heavy vehicle / transport and logistics industry is an advantage.
• High level of initiative and ability to exercise sound judgement to lead a team within a complex transport operation.
• Effective communicator with a proven ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Above average computer literacy skills.
• Knowledge of Region 9’s bus route services and the overall Greater Sydney Bus Service Contract would be highly desirable.
About you
• Minimum 5 years experience in operational supervision or leading frontline teams.
• Holds qualifications in Transport Management and/or Frontline Management.
• Holds a valid or ability to obtain a TLIF 0006 Certificate in order to Administer and provide strategies regarding managing fatigue risk system.
• Hold a valid First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain one
• Hold a valid Working with Children Clearance and National Police Check.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Logistics, Management or equivalent are highly desirable
