Tool Maker - Press Tooling

Job Description: 

We are looking for a qualified Toolmaker to join our team. This is a hands-on position that requires the ability to work in a team setting. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and will have excellent communication skills. 

We have a busy Toolroom specialising in progression press tooling. We design and manufacture new Press tools from client’s product drawings and specifications. We also support our clients with ongoing maintenance of tooling.  

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Essential:  

Ability to read drawings, GD&T and specifications. 

Manual milling, turning and surface grinding. 

Create new tooling from CAD drawings and specifications. 

Tool sharpening - removal of appropriate punches / dies, dressing off wear and damage, manufacture packing & correct re-assembly. 

Assemble, fit and trial Press tools. 

Preferred:  

Press tool diagnostics - Ability to identify and rectify clearance issues, burr conditions and critical part features.  

Tooling improvement - Able to identify a problem, design solution, agree method, plan and implement the solution.  

Create drawings and specifications for tooling. 

CAM programming of lathe, mill and wire EDM machines.
