As the Director of Total Rewards you will report to the Global Vice President of Total Rewards (based in the US), responsible for ensuring programs and processes are aligned with the organisation’s and region’s strategic objectives, culture, and global Total Rewards philosophy.

As part of the senior HR leadership team, you will play a fundamental role working across multiple functions to support, guide and influence the strategies for Australia from a Total Rewards perspective. Your core responsibilities will include: Manage the compensation and benefits design, implementation, and operationalization within Australia.

Review the company’s competitive compensation levels relative to market, developing and recommending changes to the salary structure to attract and retain qualified staff as appropriate. Oversees the job evaluation process, and/or serves as lead analyst for conducting job evaluations and communicating results. Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation and benefits policies, guidelines, and procedures.

In partnership with the global Total Rewards team, leads the annual compensation salary planning process for Australia. Manages the external compensation survey process and survey subscriptions. Keeps appraised of local benefits and compensation laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.

Reviews and analyses changes to the laws and manages execution of required or suggested changes. Manages employee benefits programs and acts as key contact for company sponsored superannuation plan. Develops specifications for new plans or modifies existing plans to maintain company's competitive position in labour market and ensure a benefit package that is meaningful for all company locations.

Manages implementation of approved new plans and changes including communication materials, booklets, and other media for communicating new plans to employees. What’s on offer: Career development opportunities to pursue your passion

To be successful in this role and to play a part in our ongoing success you will have: Leadership experience withiin HR, including Compensation and/or Total Rewards. Strategy and Policy development expertise.

Experience working with remuneration models, bonus schemes, superannuation, share plans, expatriate, insurance and related tax considerations. Strong commercial acumen ideally with a background of working within the resources industry. Demonstrated ability to make data-driven and strategic decisions.

Experienced in overseeing complex projects and implementation initiatives. Knowledge of compensation and benefits best-practice, relevant employment legislation and regulations A “roll up your sleeves” mentality with the ability to pivot easily between strategic and tactical.
