Purpose:
Supervise daily operationsof the Injune Visitor Information Centre and its volunteer workforce inaccordance with best practices. Contribute to the identification of tourismdevelopment and marketing initiatives to increase visitor numbers, duration ofstay, repeat visitors, and visitor spend within the region.

- 12-month maternity cover - 1 day per week (Monday) with the possibility of extra hours as required
- Casual - $46.17 per hour

Mandatory qualificationsand licences
To be successful you will need to demonstrate that you will be able to meet (or have the ability to obtain) the below mandatory requirements for the role:
CurrentC (Car) Class Driver Licence
CurrentWork with Children Check (Blue Card) (or ability to obtain upon commencement)
Combination of experience, expertise, and competence sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
Desirable qualifications and licences
Although not mandatory, the below qualifications and licences are considered beneficial to the role:
- Vocational qualifications in Tourism (or similar discipline), orAttained through previous appointment, service and/or study, an equivalent level of expertise and experience to undertake the range of activities required
Required skills andexperience
- Demonstrated ability toproduce innovative solutions to attract and retain volunteer staff in VisitorInformation Centers across the region.
- Ability to provide andpresent accurate information to internal and external stakeholders about theMaranoa region and its surrounds. Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills with the ability to construct research, reportsand presentations.
- Commitment to a team-basedapproach with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders atall levels.
- Highly developed timemanagement, planning and organisational skills for self and volunteers, withthe drive and ability to work with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detailand ability to accuratelycollect and collate statistical data.
- Well-developed computer skills with theability to use programs such as Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel,PowerPoint) and quickly learn new IT systems. Ability to demonstrate astrong commitment to Maranoa Regional Council's values and team goals.
- Previous experienceworking in local government or similar environment will be highly regarded butis not essential.
