Purpose:
Supervise daily operations of the Injune Visitor Information Centre and its volunteer workforce in accordance with best practices. Contribute to the identification of tourism development and marketing initiatives to increase visitor numbers, duration of stay, repeat visitors, and visitor spend within the region.

Mandatory qualifications and licences
To be successful you will need to demonstrate that you will be able to meet (or have the ability to obtain) the below mandatory requirements for the role:
Current C (Car) Class Driver Licence
Current Work with Children Check (Blue Card) (or ability to obtain upon commencement)
Combination of experience, expertise, and competence sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
Desirable qualifications and licences
Although not mandatory, the below qualifications and licences are considered beneficial to the role:
Vocational qualifications in Tourism (or similar discipline), or
Attained through previous appointment, service and/or study, an equivalent level of expertise and experience to undertake the range of activities required
Required skills and experience
- Demonstrated ability to produce innovative solutions to attract and retain volunteer staff in Visitor Information Centers across the region.
- Ability to provide and present accurate information to internal and external stakeholders about the Maranoa region and its surrounds. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to construct research, reports and presentations.
- Commitment to a team-based approach with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly developed time management, planning and organisational skills for self and volunteers, with the drive and ability to work with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately collect and collate statistical data.
- Well-developed computer skills with the ability to use programs such as Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and quickly learn new IT systems. Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to Maranoa Regional Council’s values and team goals.
- Previous experience working in local government or similar environment will be highly regarded but is not essential.
