Town Planner

A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced Town Planner to join our successful planning team in a new additional position.

In this Town Planner role, you will work within a fast-paced, collaborative team environment and have a primary focus on statutory planning with the ability to participate in strategic planning projects.

This rewarding role offers a varied and interesting scope of work, working closely with the broader Development and Regulatory Services and Infrastructure Services teams.

You will have completed a tertiary qualification in Town Planning, with demonstrated experience in statutory planning and eligibility for membership with PIA (Planning Institute of Australia).

This position is offered on a permanent full-time basis. Annual salary will be negotiated subject to applicant’s qualification, skills and experience within a range of $88,291 to $97,545 plus 14.5% Superannuation, in accordance with Council’s Enterprise Agreement 2022.

Assistance with relocation expenses is available and will be determined with the successful candidate (if applicable).

Other benefits include:

  • A 19 day month, allowing for a rostered day off to full time employees.
  • Up to one hour per month health and wellbeing activity leave.
  • Four hours per six month period volunteering activity leave.
  • Long service leave is based on 10 years continuous service, with pro rata access after seven years of continuous service.
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities.

Customer Service Officer (Part Time)

Meander Valley Council seek an enthusiastic and supportive person to work collaboratively with other team members to support the customer service and administrative functions of Council. Working closely with the Corporate Services team members you will be responsible for providing high level, reliable and effective customer service to members of the community and to council employees.

The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding customer service skills and possess the ability to communicate in a polished and professional manner with a broad range of external and internal stakeholders.

Successful completion of a qualification in a relevant field will be advantageous, with previous work experience in customer service or business administration, or an equivalent combination of training, skills and experience.

This position is available on a permanent part time basis for 15.8 hours a week, worked 8.30am to 5pm on Tuesday and Friday.

Annual salary will be negotiated subject to applicant’s qualification, skills and experience within a range of $58,777 ($30.14 per hour) to $63,654 ($32.64 per hour) (pro-rata for part time employees) plus 14.5% Superannuation, in accordance with Council’s Enterprise Agreement 2022.

Civil Engineer (Experienced or Graduate)

Meander Valley Council welcomes applications for the role of Civil Engineer (or Graduate Civil Engineer) to join our dedicated and collaborative Infrastructure team.

The Civil Engineer is responsible for the preparation of design drawings, specifications, and project plans relating to civil engineering work for both construction and maintenance of Council infrastructure (including roads, footpaths, bridges and stormwater drainage) which is directed by Council’s Asset Management Strategy. The Civil Engineer works closely with other officers in the Engineering Team in delivering engineering solutions which best serve Council and the community.

Annual salary will be negotiated subject to applicant’s qualification, skills and experience within a range of $75,077 to $88,291, plus 14.5% Superannuation, in accordance with Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

Project Manager (Two positions)

The uniqueness of our municipality provides an exciting opportunity where you will simultaneously manage the delivery of various projects, including strategic and capital works program projects, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and schedule requirements.

You will have a qualification in engineering or project management with at least two years relevant work experience. Experience working on infrastructure projects for the local government sector will be highly regarded but is not essential.

These positions are offered on a permanent full time basis. Annual salary will be negotiated subject to applicant’s qualification, skills and experience within a range of $75,077 to $94,460 plus 14.5% Superannuation, in accordance with Council’s Enterprise Agreement 2022.
