About the role:
You'll be providing support and collaborating with a small team responsible for maintaining wagons.
Your time will be dedicated to hands-on maintenance tasks, both on-site and in the field. This position requires working Monday to Friday during dayshift hours. There may be occasions when you'll need to answer phone calls outside of regular hours from the lead wagon maintenance coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections on rail wagons to detect any damage or malfunctions.
- Carry out repairs or replacements on damaged components, including brakes, couplings, and suspension systems.
- Implement work priorities established by the company in accordance with the Wagon Maintenance Manual.
- Manage intricate tasks, establishing work priorities to align with business requirements.
- Optimize resource utilization to meet targets for wagon availability and reliability.
- Ensure that wagon maintenance adheres to relevant technical standards, practices, and procedures.
About you
- Must hold a valid Drivers Licence
- Able to work a 24/7 roster
- Able to successfully complete all Pre-employment Checks including:
- Category 1 Rail Medical
- Musculoskeletal Assessment
- Ongoing Drug and Alcohol testing
- Provide a current National Police Clearance
- Forklift Licence is desirable
