Health & Allied Services - IN17 Cook Grade 3, $31.89 per hour excluding allowances & casual loading

Opportunities exist for a qualified Trade Cook to join our food production team within our kitchen. Under the guidance of the Head Chef, this position is responsible for the preparation of meals for patients and residents, in accordance with standard recipes and production schedules. Our ideal candidate(s) will have experience in cook chill system and have strong communication skills, the ability to read, understand and follow standard recipes, production lists and schedules, diet guidelines and safety instructions and have a strong history of being able to work as an effective team member.
The successful applicant will be employed on a casual basis to backfill leave and extra shifts on days, nights and weekends. Casual positions do not include regular hours. We are seeking someone who is motivated and flexible to work a variety of shifts up and until 5:30pm at the latest.

Required skills and experience include:
Mandatory:
- Safe Food Handlers Certificate – HLTTFS7A or equivalent.
- Extensive previous experience in a high volume kitchen
- Trade Cooking Certificate
Desirable:
- Previous experience with the cook chill food production system
- Experience and proficiency in computer usage
- Previous healthcare or special diet preparation experience
IMPORTANT: All staff employed in the healthcare sector are required to be fully vaccinated (3 doses) for COVID-19 and influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.

All employees must hold current entitlement to work within Australia. A six month probationary period applies to all new appointments.
