Mildura Base Public Hospital (MBPH) is a responsive regional health service transforming under public management. Our focus is on providing a patient centred approach to care when members of our community are at their most vulnerable, and we do this through a workforce of over 1000 employees who provide care 24/7 to a catchment area of 80,000 community members.
The Role
Assist the Food Services Manager in the efficient operation of the Food services department, ensuring a safe, high quality fresh-cook food service to all patients, customers and guests.
The role will be responsible for all food preparation and ensuring a high standard in quality of Hospital food production whilst ensuring cleanliness within the department in line with required standards and hospital policies.
About You
To be successful in this role you must;
- Hold a trade certificate in catering/cooking or current Food Safety Supervisor certificate for Healthcare
- Clear understanding of HACCP principles and Food standards and regulations
- A capacity and commitment to embrace the HEART Values of MBPH
- Demonstrated leadership qualities
- Demonstrates the ability to be caring and compassionate to a diverse range of individuals
- Ability to effectively manage while operating under time constraints
- Able to work shift work including early morning, afternoon and evening shifts as rostered
- Uses initiative, enthusiastic, motivated and committed to quality improvement.
- The ability to work within a team environment that promotes positivity and teamwork
- Clear understanding of Safe food handling within a health care facility
