About the Role
We are currently seeking a Trade Cook to join the team on a Part Time basis on the AM shift.
Under the direction of the Support Services Co-ordinator & Support Services Manager, the Trade Cook is responsible for the providing fresh cooked baked sweet and/or savory mid meal items. Special celebratory theme cooking for the facility will also be required approx on a monthly basis. The Cook will prepare and produce items as per daily work sheet ensure core temperature has reached above 75 degrees, while being responsible for the relevant working area in accordance with the food safety plan and all production schedules and demands. Short order cooking and meal preparation in line with residents choice also required.
- Prepare of short order meals as required
- Monitor waste management
- Work area is kept clean as per Food Safety standards, kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards are adhered too, including thorough kitchen cleaning and sanitizing
- Inform coordinators of issues in Main Kitchen
- Oversee main meal reheating by Cook Employed alone
- Daily ordering, daily audits as required, and reports compiled to Coordinator & Manager.
The classification for this position will be IN17 ($65,754 per annum pro rata)
Your Contribution
- Food Safety Certificate HLTFSE001
- Food Safety Supervisors Certificate HLTFSE005 & HLTFSE007
- Certificate 111 or 1V Commercial Cookery or equivilant trade certificate
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen
- Previous experience in an Aged Care environment (desirable)

Berengarra, a new multi storey 90 bed state of the art residential aged care facility comprises 60 mainstream and 30 Aged Persons' Mental Health (APMH) beds designed to deliver contemporary best practice person centered care. Berengarra compliments a suite of existing St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne's residential facilities.
