We are currently seeking a committed and motivated individual for the position ofTrade Marketing Executive for our New York City Tourism + Convention division.
Based in The Walshe Group's offices in the heart of Sydney's CBD, the role is focused on achieving maximum traction for NYC, working with the Australia/New Zealand travel trade and providing marketing and event management support to the Walshe Group destination team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordination of the annual marketing and activity plan to the approval of NYC.
- Develop and maintain key trade relationships across all market segments and liaise with stakeholders to the benefit of NYC.
- To coordinate and implement marketing activities and events including but not limited to;
- Trade training updates and webinars
- Deliver presentations
- Expos
- Sales missions
- Co-operative promotions
- Trade fam trips
- Industry events
- Update and maintain trade databases.
- Manage regular trade communications – such as newsletters and product updates utilising the inhouse CRM system.
- Coordinate and qualify trade fam trips and escort fam trips as required.
- Source market intelligence and report appropriately.
- Monitor expenditure and complete financial reporting and processes in line with procedures from The Walshe Group and NYC.
- Coordinate and update presentations, point of sale material and promotional items.
- Respond to general enquiries and correspondence.
- Attend industry events as a representative of NYC as beneficial.
- Complete all reporting requirements specific to Trade Marketing activity and market developments as requested by NYC.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in a sales or marketing role in the travel, tourism or aviation sector.
- Established relationships across the travel trade sector in Australia/NZ
- First hand knowledge of the travel trade distribution system in Australia.
- Previous experience in trade sales and marketing, assisting with the coordination of events and undertaking marketing activity and campaigns.
- Excellent time management & task organisational skills.
- First rate presentation and communication skills.
- Solid working knowledge of MS Office software and other marketing and project management tools.
- A formal qualification in marketing, communications, business or travel/tourism a definite advantage.
- Knowledge of New York City and a passion for luxury tourism a definite advantage.
- Extensive international and domestic travel required.
