An exciting opportunity has presented itself at Townsville Hardware. We are seeking a positive and energetic person to join the team working between the trade counter and storage warehouse.

In this sales focused role, you will assist both trade and retail customers to make every customer experience memorable and positive. You will use your sales experience and passion to support and drive sales growth with all building products.

This is a diverse role with your time spilt between sales and working on the trade counter and the more physical work of assisting our customers in the drive through trade warehouse. The opportunity for ongoing training and development to improve your skills and the chance to work in different areas of the store whilst pursuing growth and learning on a daily basis.

Our roles suit those who are willing to work in a team environment.

Prior experience with hardware, or within the building industry is advantageous. The role is well suited to someone with confidence who enjoys working with people. 

• Process customer orders & quotes by phone and email
• Cross sell product ranges to builders for a one stop shop approach
• Hands on approach with the ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines and most importantly deliver to our customers. 
• Undertake regular product training with market leading brands
• High awareness of site safety and duty of care for your team, staff and site visitors
• Safe operation of a forklift in a fast paced environment
• Experience in loading and unloading heavy building materials 
• Excellent communication skills and an enjoyment of working with people 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

We require a motivated and enthusiastic person who is willing to embrace and drive growth while learning the ropes of being part of a busy store. You will get the opportunity for ongoing training and development to improve your sales skills and the chance to work in different areas of the store whilst pursuing growth and learning on a daily basis.

• Physically fit with the ability to safely lift loads and manually handle goods 
• Exceptional attention to detail coupled with high level of accuracy 
• Previous experience in cash handling and point of sale
• Computer literate and ability to learn new systems quickly
• Excellent communication skills and an enjoyment of working with people
• Genuine commitment to Safety and Company values
• Experience in general hardware and or retail environment highly advantageous
• Manual Vehicle Licence 
• Forklift Licence (LF)
