About us
Aussie World is a successful tourism landmark located on the Sunshine Coast Queensland featuring a family theme park with rides and attractions, a specialty retail shopping village and the iconic Banana Bender Pub.
We are seeking a Trades Assistant to provide support to our Rides Engineering and Technical Services team and help us achieve our vision.
About your new role
- Provide support to the Trade qualified Rides Engineering staff to undertake preventative maintenance programs including daily, monthly and annual schedules for all plant and equipment as directed.
- Assist the team with daily pre-park opening procedures (Training will be provided)
- Undertake any duties as required for the Technical Services team including building projects.
- Maintain a well presented, clean, efficient and effective workshop at all times.
- Ensure a working knowledge of all regulatory Workplace Health and Safety policies and standards and work safely and efficiently at all times.
About you:
To be successful you should have:
- A minimum of 2 years Trades Assistant/Handyperson experience within a manufacturing, mining, theme park, large technical workshop or similar industrial environment.
- Mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Knowledge and experience using hand tools
- Experience working at heights an advantage
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to achieve outcomes within set timeframes.
- Sound ability to communicate at all levels.
- Ability to use initiative and work effectively within a team situation.
- Strong safety mindset in all facets of work.
- Flexibility with working hours is essential as shifts are rostered Wednesday to Sunday (6 am starts) weekend (1 in 5) and evening work (for events 5pm to 9.30 pm) is a requirement of this role.
Additional qualifications required
- White card general construction induction card
- Current manual Drivers licence
Additional qualifications that would be an advantage are as follows (however we will provide training)
- Forklift Licence
- EWP Licence
- Working at Heights Ticket
