Job description

AspiraDAC, a growing business bringing new technology to the market, is seeking a dedicated and skilled tradie / Manufacturing or Workshop type of person for our new warehouse in Revesby, NSW. This standalone role offers significant growth potential and the opportunity to be part of a transformative journey.   Come build our new prototypes and get into our company from the ground up!

About AspiraDAC

Dedicated to developing and commercialising the world’s first solar-powered Direct Air Capture (DAC) project, AspiraDAC is a pioneer in the field of Direct Air Capture (DAC). Born from the innovative spirit of its parent company Corporate Carbon, AspiraDAC is rapidly carving its own path in the carbon market.

In 2021, AspiraDAC was awarded a A$4 million grant from the federal government to develop a 1tpd demonstration project. Extracting CO2 directly from the atmosphere for permanent geological storage, the project is unique in its approach. Since its incarnation, AspiraDAC has not only developed a new technology to deploy DAC, but also secured new contracts and opportunities to move the business forward.

AspiraDAC’s vision extends beyond these achievements. By 2050, the market for carbon removal is estimated to be worth US$1 trillion, and AspiraDAC aims to be a key player in the space. This ambition is driven by our commitment to the environment and the belief in the power of innovation to create a sustainable future.

So, if you are driven by innovation and excited about bringing all your skills and experience to help build a new business, then this could be the role for you.

We value respect, leadership, excellence, collaboration, and flexibility in all our endeavours.

The role

The Workshop Supervisor at AspiraDAC will spearhead crucial technical trade work, focusing on the construction of both prototype and actual modular DAC systems for CO2 extraction. This initially standalone role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our new warehouse, from the efficient movement of goods to maintaining optimal stock levels and upholding a clean, safe, and secure environment.

The Workshop Supervisor will be hands-on in the procurement, manufacture, assembly, testing, and installation of required modules and products. They will be a problem-solver, driving solutions to overcome mechanical design, manufacturing, or production challenges, and will play a key role in developing plans for large-scale manufacture of the modules.

The Workshop Supervisor will also manage all workshop functions, including setup and tooling, parts coating, welding, fault finding and rectification, and general assembly. They will be responsible for inventory management, tracking incoming and outgoing goods, organising storage, and reporting on inventory levels.

Ensuring the warehouse is safe and secure for all employees and visitors, the Workshop Supervisor will adhere to our Quality, WHS, and Environmental systems policies and procedures. They will also oversee the maintenance of machinery, equipment, and other business assets to ensure continuous and efficient operation.

Furthermore, the Workshop Supervisor will be expected to provide outstanding service both internally and externally. Building close working relationships with AspiraDAC’s CEO, Mechanical Design Engineer, and Senior Project Engineer, as AspiraDAC grows, the role will extend to employee and contractor supervision and development.

Receiving significant industry experience and professional development, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all business and safety processes and policies are followed, encouraged to suggest new policies or procedures, and provide ad hoc support as required.

AspiraDAC is a flexible and progressive employer. The role will be based at our new Revesby workshop with some Sydney-based requirements from time to time including to our head office in the Sydney CBD.
