About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Traffic Engineer to join ourgrowing Infrastructure team on one of our metro projects involvingthe design and construction of roads, structures, noise walls,street lighting and ITS and shared paths.
To be considered for this position as a TrafficEngineer, you must possess the following as a minimum:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction or equivalent
- Advanced Worksite Traffic Management Certification
- Relevant Main Roads experience in a previous role is highly desired
- Minimum 2 years experience working on road projects requiring Advanced Work Site Traffic Management Certification
- Knowledge of project management structure, plans, specification, standards and implications for project accountabilities
- Strong understanding of the Project Traffic Plan, Project Design Management Plan, Quality Management Plan, Safety Management Plan and Environmental Management Plan
- Effective time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
As a Traffic Engineer you will be responsible for butnot limited to:
- Planning, designing, coordinating, implementing and monitoring all on-site temporary traffic management to achieve project time and budget objectives
- Coordinate and administer traffic management activities to ensure that works are planned and undertaken in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
- Monitoring temporary traffic management implementation for adherence to approved traffic management plans and report to the Area Construction Manager, Project Construction Manager or Project Manager
- Interpreting civil designs and work methodologies to identify traffic management needs and requirements
- Developing traffic management plans for all project work phases and locations, ensuring the plans are compliant with client, local government and industry requirements
- Liaising effectively with Roads Traffic Management Consultants to ensure traffic management plans are prepared, reviewed and independently signed off in a timely manner
- Assisting with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports, specifically in relation to traffic management and managing traffic management costs
- Assigning work and assisting with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards
- Coordinating road safety audits
- Demonstrating financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions
- Executing working knowledge of contractual and legislation relevant to the project
- Demonstrating sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes
