The Shelford Group is a large construction company providing residential and commercial construction services across the Perth metropolitan area and the southwest region for over 30 years.
We are offering an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated and self-directed person to join our commercial construction team as a Trainee Site Manager. Working alongside our highly skilled Commercial Construction Team, you will learn and apply all aspects of onsite management and administration of our commercial projects.
Your role:
While this is an trainee position, we expect that your learning curve will be steep and that within a short period of time you will be an integral member of our onsite construction team, at which time your role will include:
- Managing all facets of construction on site in accordance with project specifications, drawings and programs, as well as Shelford's construction, safety and environmental management plans
- Scheduling and managing site personnel, contractors, suppliers & materials for optimum workflow on site
- Executing critical quality and safety checks to ensure that Shelford's strict performance standards are met
- Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with our clients, contractors and other external stakeholders
Ideally, as the successful candidate you will have:
- 5+ years of hands on trade experience in the commercial and industrial sectors (carpentry trade will be well regarded)
- Strong commitment to high standard of safety and quality
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively alongside multiple trades in large residential or commercial projects, completing works to strict quality standards and timeframes
- Excellent time and process management skill
- Experience in coordinating the work of employees and/or sub-contractors is preferred
