Form of workAustralian Clinical Labs have a number of exciting new part-time opportunities in Regional Victoria for those desiring to enter into the Healthcare profession as a Pathology Collector.
If you are looking for a new opportunity to work with people and really make a difference or if you are a current healthcare worker and looking for a change in career, then we would welcome your application. Previous experience is not required; successful candidates will be fully supported in training to obtain a certificate of accreditation in Pathology Collection (Cert III). The training will be a combination of:
- Workplace learning, alongside an experienced Mentor in one of our Collection centres
- Study and the completion of Cert III course materials
- In person training, with some face to face learning sessions to be held in Melbourne
We are currently providing training programs with permanent employment opportunities for the following areas within: Horsham, Swanhill, Kerang, Ballarat, Geelong, Warrnambool, Shepparton, Bendigo, Wodonga, Lavington, Sale, Cowes, Gisborne and Lancefield.
Specific duties include;
- Collection of blood and other samples from patients
- Attending to the care, storage and processing of pathology specimens
- Providing great customer service to your patients
- Attend to paperwork and associated clerical duties to ensure all details are correct in a timely manner
Skills and experience;
- An ongoing commitment to employment in Pathology
- Exceptional customer service skills both in person and over the telephone
- Exceptional time management skills
- Ability to complete units of study and attend remote and some face to face training sessions.
- Sound Language, Numeracy and Literacy knowledge
- Hold a current Driver's License
- Ability to communicate effectively with the Collections team referring, doctors, patients and other stakeholders
- Basic Computer skills
- Rights to work in Australia
