About the role: 

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Training and Assessor to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring our employees are proficient in operating earthmoving, crushing, screening, and processing equipment and comply with safety regulations. This role is based in Chipping Norton and travel to our various quarrying and recycling sites by the business. This position is a 12-month contract working 38-hours per week, with an immediate start. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Training Program Development

• Design and develop comprehensive training programs tailored to the waste management and quarry sectors.
• Create training materials incorporating best practices, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop instructional videos, manuals, and e-learning modules to support diverse learning preferences.
• Identify key skill gaps in the current workforce and provide solutions to close competency gaps.
• Source appropriate training providers and courses to fill all competency gaps.

2. Training Delivery

• Conduct hands-on training sessions for new hires and ongoing training for current employees by utilising various training methods

3. Assessment and Certification

• Develop assessment criteria and tools to evaluate the competency of operators.
• Conduct practical and theoretical assessments to certify employees in earthmoving, crushing, screening, and processing equipment operations.
• Provide constructive feedback to trainees and identify areas for improvement.

4. Compliance and Safety

• Promote safety culture through regular safety drills, hazard recognition training, and emergency response procedures.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and adjust training programs accordingly.

5. Record Keeping and Reporting

• Maintain accurate training records, including attendance, assessment results, and certification status.
• Prepare reports on training activities, employee progress, and program effectiveness.

6. Collaboration and Support

• Work closely with operations managers and supervisors to identify training needs and develop customised training solutions.
• Provide ongoing support and coaching to employees to help them achieve and maintain high-performance standards.
• Facilitate communication between trainees and management to address any training-related issues or concerns.

Qualifications:

• Qualifications in Training and Development, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Certification as a Trainer and Assessor (e.g., Cert IV in Training and Assessment) is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in Training and assessment within the waste management or quarry sector (essential)
• Strong understanding of operating earthmoving, crushing, screening, and processing equipment (essential)
• Excellent knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to develop engaging training materials and deliver training through various methods.
• Strong assessment and feedback skills.
• Proficient in using technology and innovative tools for training purposes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Own vehicle as travel to other sites is requirred
• Qualifications in Training and Development, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Valid Australian Drivers' License and own vehicle is essential for this role.
