About the role
The primary objective of the Training Manager is to develop the capability and ensure competence of the frontline workforce, specifically, Traincrew, Terminal Operators, and Planners. The role ensures we have the right capability in the right location to deliver services for the customer.
Your aim is to develop training pathways based on current training standards. In addition to analysis of competence, your role is to work with a variety of internal stakeholders to make sure all desired training outcomes are met through the appropriate training plans. You are also to ensure your team of Training Principals are delivering the best experience possible to the designated business units.
Key responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:
- Plan and resource new schools and competency-based training/assessment activities utilising approved competency-based training packages, consistent with the level of qualifications held
- Translate training into real life examples or scenarios
- Monitoring and maintaining the acquisition of competencies for relevant alignment with TLI training package and AQF Qualification requirements
- Develop a training business plan that is reviewed monthly with key business stakeholders, reviewing
- capability and gap analysis
- Promote safe workplace culture. Provide leadership, ensuring all employees comply with WH&S regulations, company policies and procedures
About you
You will be a seasoned training professional with a background working within a large complex operational business. You will have excellent communication, initiative, and mentoring skills with the ability to work effectively with people, systems and reporting tools. You will be a highly effective communicator with demonstrated experience in seeking out and developing key relationships with internal stakeholders, government regulators and external business partners.
In addition you will have:
- Hold/Be undertaking TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or TAE equivalent
- CERT IV in Frontline Management or Leadership is well regarded
- Previous experience as a training manager, workplace trainer and facilitator
- Experience developing and building strong stakeholder relationship at multiple levels
- Ability to work within a matrix organisation
- Demonstrated experience leading a team of training professionals, preferable with dispersed teams
- Knowledge of RTO and AQF regulatory requirements
- Track record of improving business and training systems
- Project management skills
