About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contracts Manager to join our team. The Contracts Manager will play a crucial role in managing and administering various contracts related to the procurement of goods and services essential for the operation of Metro Trains Melbourne. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with contractual agreements, mitigate risks, and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our procurement processes.
This is a 2 year max term position.
What you will be doing
Lead the end-to-end management of contracts, from procurement to closure, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including procurement, legal, finance, and operations teams, to define contract requirements and objectives.
Negotiate, draft, and review contracts, amendments, and legal documents to protect the interests of Metro Trains Melbourne.
Monitor contract performance, vendor relationships, and key performance indicators, proactively identifying and addressing any issues or discrepancies.
Develop and implement robust contract management policies, procedures, and best practices to optimise efficiency and minimise risks.
Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate contract-related risks and uncertainties.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of contract-related documentation, correspondence, and changes.
About you
Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, law, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CPCM, CCM) are highly desirable.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in contract management, procurement, or a related field, preferably within the transportation or infrastructure sector.
In-depth knowledge of contract law, procurement regulations, and contract management principles.
Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, coupled with the ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities simultaneously.
Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
