The Training Specialist role will be site-based, operating on a five-days-on, two-days-off roster (Monday to Friday), and work with Eminence One for our mining client in the Bowen Basin for a 6-month contract, with options to fly in and out of Brisbane or drive in and out regionally if desired.
The Training Specialist role is responsible for supporting the site systems team in driving compliance, training, and reporting initiatives that positively influence the culture and performance of the site.
Reporting to the Superintendent of Site Systems, key responsibilities include:
- Advising operational departments of training requirements for controlling material risk and legislative training requirements for plant and equipment.
- Liaising with subject matter experts on training content development and assessments.
- Maintenance of a TNA for the site.
- Providing support, mentoring, and coaching for on-the-job trainers and Assessors and training administrators.
- Generating and analysing training data.
- Designing and developing training packages to meet area operational plans based on skills needs analysis, training needs analysis and gap closure.
About you:
- Demonstrated experience in training administrator/specialist roles.
- Hold a Certificate IV in training and assessment.
- Hold a current Standard 11
- Hold a current coal board medical (not essential)
- Proficient in the use of the learning management system and have a commitment to further develop skills, experience and relationships within the mine sites operational areas.
- An understanding of the AQF and ASQA.
- Industry skills and experience to ensure that the development of training materials is well planned.
- Ensure business needs are met in an efficient and timely manner.
- Ability to provide advice as the subject matter expert on legislative training and licensing requirements whilst providing a customer-focused advisory service.
- Proficient computer skills in Excel and Outlook with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to organise and manage competing demands and priorities.
