The Role

We are currently seeking a Transport & Resource Allocator to join our QLD division, based in Yatala. Reporting to the Regional Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for allocating transport and plant to meet project requirements, assign driver schedules, liaise with suppliers and customers to maximise efficiency and effective utilisation of resources, whilst maintaining a high focus on safety and compliance.

This role will interact closely with our project delivery teams, support business units and external providers, and will suit a candidate who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, with a proactive approach and ability to apply problem solving skills to ensure resources are allocated efficiently. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and coordination of all trucking movements, crew, plant and subcontract resources to meet project requirements
  • Communicating relevant information to drivers, internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintaining compliance with Chain of Responsibility and Fatigue Management policies and legislation 
  • Understanding and complying with HVNL, route planning, and access requirements for all scheduled plant and equipment moves
  • Coordinating with the Workshop team to facilitate availability of plant and equipment for R&M
  • Coordinating with the Safety team to ensure WHSEQ performance and outcomes 
  • Working with Contracting and Commercial teams to ensure procurement and purchasing requirements are complied with
  • Assisting in the collection, sorting, & filing of NHVAS & Plant Equipment paperwork
  • Other duties as required

Key past experience and knowledge considered for this role:

  • Previous experience in similar roles and industries 
  • Ability to deal effectively with conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility, HVNL, Load Restraint & Dangerous Goods
  • Knowledge of transport and logistics scheduling 
  • Sound computer skills (MS Office), and ability to learn new systems 
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong team player
