Job Title: Transport Supervisor

Job Summary:

As a Transport Supervisor in Darwin, NT, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective movement of goods and people within the region. This includes planning and coordinating transportation activities, managing compliance with transport regulations and safety standards, supervising transportation staff, liaising with stakeholders, maintaining records/documentation, implementing technology/systems, conducting audits/inspections, and staying updated with industry trends.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate transportation activities including scheduling routes, trips, and vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations and safety standards.
• Supervise and manage the performance of drivers and other transportation staff.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to address transportation-related issues/requirements.
• Maintain accurate records/documentation of transportation activities.
• Collaborate with other departments within the business such as Civil Construction, Quarry, Concrete divisions.
• Implement/manage transportation technology/systems to streamline operations.
• Conduct regular audits/inspections to ensure compliance with company policies/procedures.
• Stay up to date with industry trends/developments in transportation regulations/techniques.

Skills:

• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Great communication skills (verbal/written)
• Good knowledge of local geography/transport infrastructure in Darwin NT
• Proficiency in using Office365 Applications
• Sound knowledge of NHVAS (National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme)
• MC License (desirable but not essential)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to implement/deliver policies/procedures
• Understanding of labour management/performance management/employee development
• Excellent organization skills
• Experience in managing workplace safety including Quality Safety & Environmental Management Systems
• Ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications:

• licenses such as MC License are desirable.
• White card
• Forklift license
• Implement fatigue management strategies desirable
