Travel Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Omega Medical work with acute facilities all over Queensland and we are currently looking for experienced ED nurses to join our team. Travel on a working holiday and be the first point of contact for trauma and urgent care patients in rural hospitals, multi purpose services, or larger hospitals. There are loads of options and you get to choose where you go.

About us:

We take a hands-on approach when working with our nurses, assisting with the onboarding process and offering continuous communication throughout your contracts.

Your duties:

• Assess and triage patients to direct their level care
• Use your clinical skills and critical thinking with patients who present with a variety of illnesses and trauma
• Receive patients from paramedics and take over care
• Refer patients to other departments
• Liaise with management and the multi disciplinary team 
• Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation
• Promote a safe working environment for all patients and staff. Work within your scope of practice whilst referring to the code on conduct.
• Coordinate admissions and discharges and liaise with hospital management

Requirements:

• Current AHPRA Registration
• Masters/Bachelor of Nursing
• Experience in rural nursing and Emergency Departments
• Advanced Life Support
• Triage training 
• Knowledge/experience of eMR systems
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised
