We are urgently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Triage Officer to join our Disaster Recovery and Resilience team. This role is critical in assessing and prioritising the repair needs of government infrastructure damaged by natural disasters. The successful candidate will work primarily in a back-office environment, providing essential support to our frontline operations.
Key accountabilities include:
- Assessment & Prioritisation: Conduct initial evaluations of natural disaster claims from local councils, categorising and prioritising the repair needs for transport infrastructure.
- Coordination: Collaborate with governance, assurance, and finance teams to ensure the timely and appropriate allocation of resources for disaster recovery projects.
- Documentation: Maintain precise records of assessments, triage decisions, and subsequent actions.
- Communication: Produce clear and concise reports for team leaders and relevant authorities.
- Process Improvement: Identify and recommend continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in disaster recovery operations.
- Support: Assist in the management and oversight of disaster recovery funding and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in disaster recovery, governance, assurance, or a similar role would be highly desired.
- Experience in managing high-volume and high-pressure situations is essential.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and proficiency in using relevant software and tools.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, meticulous attention to detail, and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in disaster recovery funding and implementing continuous process improvements is highly desirable.
- Predominantly work from home (WFH) with occasional meetings in the office.
