Job description

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals that can exhibit a "can do" attitude with the ability to work efficiently and effectively on their own and as part of a team and are able to be flexible in meeting changing priorities and workloads in a fast-paced work environment.

Our APS3 Tribunal Services Officers respond to general enquiries from users of the AAT's services. They provide administrative support to Members of the AAT before, during and after hearings and undertake case and file management responsibilities. They may also raise applications, receipt correspondence and prepare files for finalisation.

Our ideal candidate is user-focussed with well-developed communication skills, strong organisational skills, and able to manage multiple workloads and competing priorities.

The successful candidate should be able to use digital technologies and equipment, including computer-based information systems and Microsoft Office applications.

The annual salary for this position is from $66,437 to $68,975 plus 15.4% superannuation.

Position Eligibility Requirements:

The AAT requires Australian citizenship as a condition of engagement.

All employees are required to undertake an Australian Federal Police Check and health assessment.

Position Notes:

Onsite attendance is required. Hybrid working arrangements to work from home may be available subject to operational requirements. Staff must be available to work during Tribunal business hours, 8.30am to 5.00pm.

Order of merit list/merit pool: A merit list/pool of suitable candidates may be created from this process. Suitable candidates on this merit list/pool may be contacted in relation to identical or similar ongoing roles in the AAT, or the broader APS, within 18 months from the date of gazettal.

Our members are independent statutory appointees who hear applications for review. Our staff provide services to support those seeking merits review, including helping applicants navigate the process. Staff also carry out a wide range of activities to support our hearings our work in alternate dispute resolution and our daily operations.
